Sharing Our Message: WSJ.com
June 22, 2016
We were pleased this week to have been featured in a special section by the Wall Street Journal’s Custom Studios.
Titled “Culture Quantified,” the article and accompanying study share some very important data about how a positive company culture impacts every aspect of an organization. Barry-Wehmiller and companies such as The Container Store, Wells Fargo and Box Inc. are featured.
The bottom line of the article is that treating your people as if they matter is the right thing to do, and is also a positive for your business. An engaged and fulfilled workforce drives a stable and thriving business and job security for your team members.
One interesting statistic in the article and survey is worth pointing out. “While 51 percent of C-suite respondents to the Culture Quantified survey strongly believed their corporate culture ‘puts people first,’ only 28 percent of those with professional and managerial titles shared that perception,” the article says. “This disconnect is a telling clue about how those closest to the front lines of business feel they are valued in their organizations.”
What those numbers say to me is that we still have a long way to go in spreading our message to change the way companies do business.
How would the people in your company respond to those questions?
