ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (USA)— March 4, 2015 — Bob Chapman, Chairman and CEO of Barry‐Wehmiller, is pleased to announce the promotion of Pete Carlson to President of BW Container Systems. BW Container Systems, a division of Barry‐Wehmiller, designs and manufactures a range of integrated packaging machinery solutions for the food, beer and beverage, bakery, personal care, pharmaceutical, and household products industries.
“Pete has contributed to BW Container Systems significant growth into a leading global provider of conveyance technology with revenues now exceeding $150 million annually,” stated Chapman. “Through Pete’s experienced leadership, BW Container Systems will continue to grow while remaining focused on the hallmarks of the company: innovation, product line performance and a deep commitment to its people‐centric culture.”
Carlson brings ten years of experience to the role. He joined BW Container Systems (then called Fleetwood) in 2005 as Director of Supply Chain. Within two years he was promoted into a VP role with increasing responsibilities for Customer Service, Aftermarket Sales, New Equipment Sales and Business Development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Western Illinois University. Carlson replaces outgoing President Neal McConnellogue, recently named President of Barry‐Wehmiller’s largest division, BW Papersystems.

In his new role, Carlson will be responsible for all aspects of the business, including new equipment sales, aftermarket sales, customer service, field service, engineering and manufacturing. BW Container Systems’ employs nearly 500 team members among five operations in Chicago; Denver; Lynchburg, Va.; Baltimore, Md.; and Doncaster, U.K. Carlson will work mainly out of the Chicago office.
