ST. LOUIS — June 30, 2026 — BW Packaging, Barry-Wehmiller’s packaging machinery business, announces the expansion of its Hayssen X850 into the wet wipes market. Combining individual servo ring technology and a quick-release jaw design, the multi-jaw flow wrapper delivers the seal integrity and throughput that wet wipes manufacturers need

Wet wipes manufacturers operate under some of the most challenging packaging conditions in the industry. Packages must be hermetically sealed to preserve effectiveness, while thin films, high moisture content and continuous operation often push conventional single-jaw flow wrappers beyond their limits — resulting in leaks, inconsistent seals and costly downtime. The Hayssen X850 was designed to go beyond these limitations.

“Developed through five years of market research and customer feedback, it delivers up to two times higher speeds while achieving superior seal integrity — representing a breakthrough in performance that has simply not been available in the wet wipes market until now,” said Jim Kolmus, Vice President of Innovation Operation, BW Packaging.

At the core of the Hayssen X850 is a patented jaw wheel design that enables sealing jaws to remain engaged up to ten times longer than traditional single-jaw flow wrappers, even as line speeds increase. The extended dwell time allows seals to form fully and consistently without excessive heat, enabling manufacturers to run faster while achieving dramatically higher seal integrity. Lower sealing temperatures protect sensitive films from thermal damage and allow various film types to be run, including recyclable materials.

“In addition to its exceptional performance, we designed the machine to be smart,” said Meeghan Sheppard, Product Manager, BW Packaging. “The Hayssen X850 pairs robust performance with built-in intelligence. With RFID login and the latest OpView™ HMI standard every machine, training and operation are simple for any operator.”

Built in the United States, the machine also features proprietary anti-jam and automatic pack-rejection technologies engineered to minimize disruptions and support consistent operation — critical in wet wipes manufacturing, where downtime directly affects product quality, waste and profitability.

For generations, manufacturers have chosen Hayssen — a trusted brand within the BW Packaging portfolio — as their go-to partner for flexible packaging solutions. With a legacy of exceptional performance, unmatched dependability and lifetime support for parts, service and upgrades, Hayssen delivers what matters most.
