GREEN BAY — Oct. 13, 2026 — BW Converting will showcase the company's Hudson-Sharp bag converting technology at Propak Cape 2026, held Oct. 27–29 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, through Advanced Packaging Technology, its regional representative for bag converting. Visitors to Hall 1, Stand E5 can explore the Hudson-Sharp Apollo Series of high-speed wicketers and discuss solutions for a range of bag and pouch converting applications.

The Western Cape’s leading exhibition for packaging, processing, plastics, printing and labeling, Propak Cape brings together manufacturers and technology suppliers serving the region’s packaging industry. BW Converting’s participation through APT will give Southern African converters access to the company’s Hudson-Sharp converting technology and the local technical resources required to support equipment throughout its operating life.

A key focus at the APT stand will be the Hudson-Sharp Apollo Series, a high-speed wicketer platform designed to increase output while simplifying operation. Powered by high-dynamic servo technology, the Apollo Series can achieve production speeds of up to 450 bags per minute. Quick changeovers, automatic setup capabilities, recipe storage and an intuitive operator interface are designed to help converters improve productivity while responding efficiently to changing production requirements.

The Apollo Series can be configured for a wide range of wicketed bag applications across markets including bread and bakery, fresh produce, frozen foods, meat and poultry, hygiene products, medical applications and e-commerce. The platform can also process a variety of substrates, including conventional plastic films, materials containing PCR and PIR, biodegradable films and spot-coated paper structures.

“For converters in Southern Africa, machine performance is only part of the equation. Responsive local technical support, access to OEM parts and an agent that understands the market are equally important to keeping production moving,” said Paul Clarkson, Area Sales Manager, Bag & Mail, BW Converting. “Our relationship with Advanced Packaging Technology gives customers in the region that local expertise, backed by the Hudson-Sharp brand's more than a century of bag converting experience. Propak Cape is an important opportunity to discuss how technologies such as Apollo can help manufacturers increase productivity and build greater flexibility into their converting operations.”

As BW Converting’s regional bag converting representative, APT supplies, installs and commissions packaging and converting machinery across Southern Africa. Hudson-Sharp bag converting machines are built in Germany and the United States, with APT providing OEM spare parts and local technical support throughout the region. Together, these capabilities give customers a regional resource for both new equipment projects and ongoing production needs.

Propak Cape attendees can visit Advanced Packaging Technology in Hall 1, Stand E5 to learn more about Hudson-Sharp bag converting solutions and discuss specific production requirements with the APT team.
