BW executive leaders meet for annual senior leadership meeting

At the recent Executive Meeting in Aspen, CO (US), President Kyle Chapman kicked off the gathering by celebrating one of BW's most impressive and healthiest years, then challenged platform and business leaders to stay focused on our Step-Change Strategic Plan toward our vision of becoming a $5B organization. W+D honored with prestigious award for new envelope machine

W+D North America, Inc. (W+D), part of the BW Converting Solutions platform and a leader in envelope converting and direct mail inserting technology, received the 2022 Pinnacle InterTech Award for its new all-in-one envelope converter and inserter, the BB1000. The award is given to new technologies helping to improve or advance the printing industry with contributions in quality, capability and productivity, and are predicted to have a major impact on the printing industry.

Eberl and Wilbur partner to provide exclusive technology solutions

Eberl Claims Service (Eberl), a leader of US property claims adjusting services, will streamline their claims management process with a strategic partnership agreement and exclusive license with Wilbur, a global claims technology provider. The alliance will enable a seamless process throughout Eberl's entire claim lifecycle.

BWPS showcased customer-focused solutions at PACK EXPO

In October, BW Packaging Systems (BWPS) showcased customer-focused solutions at PACK EXPO in Chicago, IL (US) from Accraply, BW Flexible Systems, BW Integrated Systems, Pneumatic Scale Angelus and Synerlink. This year’s theme, “Conversations to Innovations,” highlighted the progress BWPS and its customers made solving industry challenges about labor, sustainability, food safety and more.

BW Papersystems (BWP) recently launched a new website featuring a striking design, upgraded navigation and improved function-ality to enhance the overall user experience. SHRM names Bob Chapman its 2022 Tharseō CEO of the Year

The Society for Human Resource Management, which supports 300,000+ HR and business leaders around the world, awarded Bob Chapman its esteemed Tharseō CEO of the Year Award because of his “innovative and impactful business practices leading to better workplaces and a better world by serving as a visionary, an innovator and a change agent.” Watch Bob's acceptance speech HERE. Gustavo Melo named Synerlink Sales Director for Latin America

Synerlink, part of the BW Packaging Systems platform, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gustavo Melo to the role of Sales Director for Latin America. Gustavo will guide Synerlink’s LATAM sales team in expanding access to industry-leading rigid, eco-friendly packaging solutions for the food industry in Latin America.

New VPs, responsible for platform partnerships and strategy, join Eberl

Eberl Claims announced Robin Roberson and Kenneth Knoll (above) joined the claims adjusting services organization last month as Senior Vice Presidents. They will be responsible for platform partnerships and strategy, bringing a powerful new dimension to the firm’s technology-based adjusting and TPA service capabilities.

PRIDE Award: Michael Stuckey of Design Group-Austin

Congratulations to Michael Stucky of Design Group's Austin, TX (US) office for receiving the prestigious PRIDE award last month. The PRIDE award is designed to recognize DG team members who exemplify leadership and promote client trust and/or client development through their direct or indirect efforts. One of Michael's nominators said he "consistently shows his ability and willing-ness to do whatever it takes to deliver. In the high-profile role he plays in [DG's] growing relationship with Tesla, he is influencing a growing team of DG professionals, including many in their first few years in the profession. He also shows his counterpart team at Tesla how DG can impact their lives, leading confidently through challenging projects." Congratulations, Michael!

High Five Recognition: Toby Murray of BW Papersystems

Congratulations to Toby Murray of BW Papersystems in Milton, PA (US) for receiving a High Five award! The nominator explained he went above and beyond to help a customer in South Korea. The customer required machine assistance on a 20+ year old VortX machine, and in order to reach the customer during their business hours, Toby stayed up to connect and help them. His attention to detail, patience and kindness attributed to successfully getting the customer's machine back to business!

High Five Recognition: Melissa Tessmann of Design Group-Boston

Congratulations to Melissa Tessmann of Design Group-Boston in Boxborough, MA (US) for receiving a High Five award! Melissa, a Quality Engineer, was recognized for working tirelessly to get a client's asset management system running from the ground up. She frequently put in extra hours to meet milestones, assisted other DG team members in learning Blue Mountain, a regulatory asset management system, and guided her own team during the setup and roll out of Blue Mountain for an important project. Way to go, Melissa!

High Five Recognition: Luis Soto-Escobar of Design Group-Maryland

Congratulations to Luis Soto-Escobar of Design Group-Maryland in Columbia, MD (US) for receiving a High Five award! The nominator explained when Luis was faced with construction challenges, he stepped in and helped get the project back on track by identifying conflicts and issues in advance and developing engineering solutions to allow the construction to remain on schedule. Another nominator described Luis as having inspirational work ethic, never giving up when presented with engineering problems and more!

Margherita and Lorenzo Cirio participate in internships in St. Louis

Brother and sister duo, Margherita and Lorenzo Cirio (above), whose family founded Canelli, Italy based AROL SpA (AROL), are learning more about how BW fosters People and Performance in Harmony during their internships at BW's global headquarters in St. Louis, MO (US). Margherita joined the People Team's human resources mentoring program. Lorenzo joined the Communications Team to learn the critical role communications plays in supporting all aspects of BW. AROL, founded in 1978 by their grandfather, Sergio Cirio, is a global provider of capping and closure systems for the food, beverage, wine and spirit, household care, personal care, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

HELP THOSE IN NEED

The Red Cross requests support after Hurricane Ian

At the end of September, Hurricane Ian devastated Lee and Charlotte counties in Florida (US), with winds of 150 mph and rainfall in excess of 20 inches. 60 percent of the 235,000 homes in these counties were destroyed. The American Red Cross and its partners are supporting those impacted with food, shelter, water, supplies, hygiene items and more. If you would like to help the recovery efforts, consider making a donation.

ATTENTION US-BASED TEAM MEMBERS

Today is the LAST DAY for Annual Enrollment in the US!

US-based team members, whether or not you are enrolled in BW medical benefits, today is the last day to complete these important actions:

1. ALL team members and spouses should complete the once-per-lifetime MyQHealth Get Connected process.

2. ALL team members must login to Workday and complete the Open Enrollment Change task in their Workday inbox.

TRAINING DEADLINE APPROACHING

Don't forget to complete policy and training tasks by November 30

As part of a growing global organization with a culture of care, team members are asked to complete required trainings, review policies and update important information. That time of year has come, and all required policy and training tasked are due to be complete in Workday by November 30. To access these tasks, log into your Workday account. If you have questions, go HERE!

NEW TECH TIP

Use these tips to stay cybersecure, both at work and at home!

The BW IT team works hard to guard against cyberthreats, but they can't do it without your help! Here are ten security tips to help you stay cybersecure:

1. Use multi-factor authentication passwords and never share passwords.

2. Lock your computer, mobile phone and tablet while away from these devices.

3. If a URL does not start with “https,” do not provide confidential information.

4. Never visit the dark web.

5. Don’t open e-mails from companies or people you would not expect to contact you.

6. Don’t use personal e-mail accounts to conduct BW business.

7. Keep your computer software up to date.

8. Never connect an unknown USB flash drive to any device.

9. Only download software from trusted, BW approved sources.

10. Delete accounts and apps you haven’t used in six months or more.
