BW Design Group takes first place in Inductive Automation’s annual Build-a-Thon

Alongside 30 other competitors, the BW Design Group (DG) team of Keith Gamble, Alex Spyksma and Christian Davis showed off their programming talents over the two-stage competition. The competition entailed a remote "race" where participants were tasked with completing programming challenges. Following this, the top two teams, including DG, were invited to the live finals at #ICCElevate. Over two intensive days, they worked on developing a new application designed to control a Plinko-style board.

PSA's Terry Porto helps a canning customer in their time of need

When Pneumatic Scale Angelus (PSA) customer Can Corporation of America's (Can Corp) legacy Angelus seamer broke down during their busiest season, they reached out to their account manager, Terry Porto, for help. Terry overcame lead time challenges to get a new turret assembled, then personally delivered new components on a Saturday to get them up and running. Bob Chapman: Decking the halls with donations

In December 2012, BW held an organization-wide food drive to help with food insecurity. A competition across the organization helped spur participation and excitement. In the end, teams collectively donated five tons of food throughout eight US cities and Chennai, India. Nine BW women honored at YWCA Leader Lunch

This month, BW Chief People Officer Rhonda Spencer hosted nine BW and BW Design Group women leaders who were recognized at the YWCA Leader Lunch: Grace Fechter, Nadia Vitale, Rachel Bishop, Becca Oswald, Anne Stotler, Christina Bouapha, Christi Emmenegger and Mary Rudder. Also recognized but not able to attend the lunch was Teresa Sanzottera. Each were nominated by a Senior Leadership Team leader for exhibiting our Leader Commitments.

Shine the Light Award: Becky Blume, BW-Corporate

Congratulations to Becky for receiving an award for Drives Results. “I am honored to work with Becky Blume,” said her nominator Amber Frederick. “Becky’s attention to detail and ability to connect the dots across all systems, divisions, policies and practices, all while keeping team member best interest in mind is unmatched. Shine the Light Award: Jim Blair, BWIS-Brooklyn Park

Congratulations to Jim for receiving an award for Drives Results. Jim’s nominator Nathan Lang said, “Jim is often tasked with large volumes of work and short deadlines, but he has consistently achieved accurate, safe and quality work for both areas of the equipment he works with. Jim’s work most often requires no rework or revisits, and his deliverables are always finalized in the most efficient manner. Congratulations to Dianna for receiving an award for Customer Focus. “I can’t say enough about my appreciation for Dianna and what she has meant to our business both locally and to our corporate partners,” shared nominators Monique Matthews and Terri Kopel. “Dianna takes initiative, exhibiting resiliency and tenacity that has inspired all who have had the pleasure of working with her. Dianna has been a tremendous partner to our US division and ensures seamless accounting processes for the Canadian division. She has been an incredible team member and wonderful to work with.”

High Five Recognition: Lorna Cardona, DG-Atlanta

BW's free Sophos antivirus software program ends December 31, 2023

The free antivirus software offered as part of BW’s former agreement with Sophos ends December 31, 2023. BW’s Information Security team recommends you implement antivirus software on all of your PCs. Therefore, for team members who are using this antivirus software, determine whether you want to remain with Sophos (which you’ll need to purchase), or if you want to remove the application from your device and switch to a different virus protection solution.
