PARIS, France — March 30, 2017 — Synerlink S.A., supplier of packaging technology for the food industry, is expanding once again with the acquisition of Ermi, a leading manufacturer of ultra-clean and aseptic fillseal bottle and cup fillers for milk, desserts, yogurt and juices.

The addition of Ermi, based in Dreux, France, completes Synerlink’s broad range of packaging solutions for its customers, including: form-fill-seal and fill-seal machines for cups and bottles, end-of-line solutions, complete packaging line integration and aftermarket support (spare parts, field service and equipment upgrades).

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Ermi to the Synerlink family,” said Eric Lesbats, Synerlink President. “The talents and knowledge of the Ermi team complement those of Synerlink’s team, and Ermi’s highly versatile and efficient fill-seal fillers will substantially enhance our product range. This is a very exciting time for us.”

“This acquisition is a great opportunity for our business, team members and customers,” said Laurent Le Naour, Ermi President and cofounder. “Ermi’s proven technology, combined with Synerlink’s global structures and established culture, will help us enhance our customers’ trust and grow into new markets.”

Ermi is Synerlink’s fifth acquisition since joining global capital equipment leader Barry-Wehmiller in 2013. In 2014, Synerlink acquired Axone Systems of Troyes, France; in 2015, Dinieper of São Paulo, Brazil; and in 2016, Dairy Pack of Logroño, Spain, and
Sogameca of Le Mans, France. Since 1987, when Barry-Wehmiller began its acquisition strategy, the privately held firm, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri (USA), has experienced significant growth, with more than 11,000 team members in 100-plus locations worldwide, and revenues of $2.5 billion. Ermi is the company’s 88th acquisition.

“It is a pleasure to share Barry-Wehmiller’s caring culture with our new Ermi team members,” said Bob Chapman, Barry-Wehmiller Chairman and CEO. “Integrating Ermi successfully completes Synerlink’s technology and product mapping vision.”

Synerlink is one of a number of Barry-Wehmiller businesses represented in BW Packaging Solutions.
