New Generative AI Policy outlines two BW-approved tools

The rise of generative artificial intelligence (AI) use brings risks including data privacy breaches, security vulnerabilities, intellectual property infringement, and the potential for bias and misinformation. In order to ensure that we harness Gen AI’s potential while mitigating associated risks, BW has released a new Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Services Policy. The policy clarifies that only two generative AI technologies are currently approved for use by BW team members: Microsoft Edge Copilot and Anthropic Claude.ai.

All BW team members are encouraged to read the policy carefully as it provides clear

guidelines to help ensure that public generative AI services are used safely, effectively, ethically and in a manner that complies with applicable regulations.

Additionally, team members are encouraged to complete the "AI Chatbot Training" (in the BWU Learning Center) for a better understanding of AI's benefits and risks.

To access the full policy, go to bwpolicies.com/global, select your language, then select “Use of Public Generative Artificial Intelligence Services Policy.”

Second BW Additive Manufacturing Center opens to support growing demand

A second Additive Manufacturing Center has opened within the BW Filling & Closing (formerly Pneumatic Scale Angelus) facility in Clearwater, FL (US), joining the existing

center inside BW Papersystems in Stuttgart, Germany. Both AMCs are fully operational and ready to support teams with a range of benefits, including nearly unlimited design freedom, reduced part costs and lead times, lower inventory needs and part count reduction opportunities. “Many BW engineers have limited experience with 3D printing or have only seen parts produced by low-cost home 3D printers that aren’t capable of producing high quality parts consistently. Our AMCs offer industrial additive manufacturing technology capable of consistently producing high quality parts that are used across the world on airplanes, automobiles and trains, as well as in medical devices and numerous consumer goods,” said Tim Schniepp, Additive Manufacturing Director. To inquire, contact Tim.
