Thank you to everyone who participated in the Every Voice Matters culture assessment. We reached 75% participation, receiving responses from 6,761 team members! Over the last four weeks, The Leadership Effect team has been analyzing the feedback submitted and is preparing recommendations for each of our organizations—nearly 100 total reports!

In March, The Leadership Effect team will meet with leaders from every organization to discuss the findings and suggest action steps. Team members will continue to receive updates throughout the process and can expect to learn more about the results over the next several months.

Bob Chapman elected to Ashoka, prestigious network of global changemakers

CEO Bob Chapman was recently selected for Ashoka's Entrepreneur-to-Entrepreneur (E2) Network, a group of world-class founders and CEOs who “unleash social good worldwide through systems-level change” through businesses having a positive impact on the world. Ashoka’s North American Leader, Konstanze Frischen, spoke to Bob for this Forbes article: Your Employees Are Somebody’s Precious Child.

Packaging World highlights BWIS' all-electric palletizer

Packaging World, the world's leading media brand targeting packaging professionals,

recently highlighted BW Integrated Systems' (BWIS) new mid-speed, 100% electric case palletizer, Maximus. Earl Wohlrab, BWIS Director of Innovation Engineering, explains the system is "suited to meet changing needs for smaller case sizes" and that "it is probably the first 100% electric machine, including the options." He said, "some companies have said their machines were all electric, but they still needed air for case stops or other functions. We use electric actuation for everything.”

BWP installs Value Knife and Stacker for customer in Turkey

BW PAPER SYSTEMS

In 2021, Turkey-based Marmara Kagit, a producer of corrugated cardboard and boxes, needed to enhance an existing corrugator from a single knife to a double knife system. BWP's Value Knife and Stacker increased the company's efficiency by 25% and productivity improved by 20-25% from size changes and reduced waste.

Having been otherwise not involved with this client or project, he spent the time and effort to get up to speed in both the project content and the client standards for construction, safety, and quality." Corey's a "team player" with "attention to details and processes for the client and Design Group." Nice job, Corey!

Her effort in helping to meet and exceed the expectations demonstrates the tremendous value she provides to our team, company, and clients." Congrats, Lori!

Dan's nominator explained he "truly demonstrated initiative and pride in the quality of work that Design Group presents to the client and the drawing package for this deliverable would not have been where it was without his dedication and support" and went on to say "his positivity and dedication made it possible to finalize our deliverable even when times were stressful". Way to go, Dan!

Recently, STAX Technologies, part of the BW Converting Solutions platform and market leader in the tissue packaging equipment industry, showed off the wide-range of tissue capabilities during the Paper One Show, the premier international paper exhibition dedicated to all kinds of paper and paper manufacturing in the Middle East/North Africa region. STAX team members (l. to r. Gianluca Matelli, Giacomo Bianchi, André Seuser, Aleksandra Starcevic, Djordje Ckonjevic, contract team member, Arianna Fazzi, Nemanja Pavicevic and Davide Bernardi) traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates to participate.

Dayforce by Ceridian—which will be implemented worldwide on a staggered schedule over several years—will replace our sunsetting version of ADP in the US and Canada in March. When complete, this transformational initiative will unite 140+ payroll systems, enhancing efficiency and security, reducing frustration and helping to ensure compensation fairness everywhere.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Marjorie E. Chapman Memorial College Scholarships applications are open—due April 15!

Marjorie E. Chapman, the late mother of CEO Bob Chapman, attended college thanks to a local banker in her Iowa (US) hometown. Now, she is making college scholarships a reality for many current BW team members’ dependent children. Since beginning in 2019, $775,000 has been awarded. In the 2022-2023 academic year alone, the program awarded 10 new scholarships and 28 renewable scholarships, totaling over $200,000. Applications are due Saturday, April 15. NEW Shine the Light Award pilot launched in select BW locations

BW’s Shine the Light Award, a new global recognition program, began piloting in select locations this month. This award is designed to shine a light into every corner of our organization, and find and celebrate team members’ notable efforts. Team members in these pilot locations may nominate an individual who has made an exceptional contribution exceeding expectations in the fulfillment our Team Member Commitments.
