June 2023

oneBW is a monthly newsletter designed to deliver information and inspiration to BW’s 12,000 team members around the globe. To read a web version in the language of your choice, click the link above. Do you have an idea for a story? Send it to bwcommunications@barry-wehmiller.com.

We Heard You! In response to the survey and candid feedback from the platforms and business units who participated in the survey, we are pleased to announce the following actions that resulted

Leader Training: The Leader Expectations & Commitments educational campaign, which launched in late May, offers webinars, eLearnings and activities to help BW’s 1500+ leaders improve their skills. Ask your leader which of the leader commitments they are working on!

New Parental Leave Policy (for all eligible US team members): The new paid leave benefit, effective retroactively to Jan. 1, 2023, is more reflective of our culture and:

  • Is available within a 12-month period following the birth of a team member’s child
  • Extends the period of short-term disability leave to eight weeks for all birth parents (Previously 6 weeks for natural birth, 8 weeks for cesarean)
  • Offers an additional 4 weeks of paid Parental Leave for the birth parent
  • Offers 2 weeks of paid Parental Leave for the non-birth parent.

And We Continue to Listen. More than 200 team members from all role levels across the organization participated in 16 Inclusion-focused listening sessions to better understand the lived experiences of our team members and shape our future approach to Inclusion. Output from those sessions will be shared in July.

Additionally, local feedback sessions are underway to further explore other assessment insights and inform the action planning that is ongoing. Thank you for your continued input and trust in this process and we work to expand our capacity for caring across BW!

NEW TECH TIP

The phishing game has a new player – be aware!

A new phishing-as-a-service (PaaS) tool now turns unskilled hackers into pros by giving them access to sophisticated features to enhance their cyberattacks. The new service, called “Greatness,” allows rookie hackers to automate their craft and trick users into entering their credentials into a fake login page. Hackers send emails with a “shared document”; the link takes victims to a fake Microsoft 365 login page. Because Greatness targets companies like ours (manufacturing, healthcare and technology sectors), be very careful what you click, and use the Outlook “Report Phish” button every time you’re suspicious. Learn more about Greatness/PaaS HERE.
