BW launched the Every Voice Matters culture assessment to gain a better understanding of our culture through the lens of our team members. The survey, available to all team members except those within BW Forsyth Partners companies (who will participate at a future date), is a great way to provide honest and confidential feedback to help make our organization the best it can be. So far, 67% of BW team members have completed the survey. To ensure that more voices are heard, the assessment has been extended through January 29. Design Group expands with new Minneapolis, MN (US) office

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group (Design Group), BW's fully integrated consulting, design, system integration and construction management firm, expanded service offerings in the food and beverage industry with a new office in Minneapolis, MN (US). The new office, led by Design Group Director Chad Hollowaty, will better serve clients in the Upper Midwest.

MSI enhances medical device offerings with Vela acquisition

Machine Solutions Inc. (MSI), part of the BWFP platform and provider of advanced equipment and services for the medical device market, acquired Vela Technologies Inc. (Vela). Headquartered in San Diego, CA (US), Vela designs and manufactures 3D UV curing equipment used for medical devices and in industrial applications. This addition adds five new hearts to the BW family and expands MSI's medical device manufact-uring automation technologies. Welcome, Vela team members!

BW Packaging Systems rebrands to BW Packaging

BW's global packaging team is now BW Packaging. Dropping "Systems" simplifies and shortens the name and ties more clearly to their BW roots. But it's not the only way the platform is streamlining their customers' experience. Changes to e-mail addresses, directory listings and all other channels will follow in the next few months. In the meantime, read more about the rebrand and check out the changes to their website!

BW names first-ever Organizational Development & Inclusion Leader

Barry-Wehmiller is pleased to announce Chyna Bowen has joined BW as the first-ever Organizational Development and Inclusion Leader. In this new role, Chyna will partner in the design and deployment of an enterprise-wide Inclusion strategy, integrated into our ongoing cultural programs. She will focus on driving toward consistency of cultural spirit that enables every team member to have equitable access to our culture and create an environment of belonging.

Bala Dhanasekaran joins BWP as Dir. of Global Engineering, Finishing

Balakrishna (Bala) Dhanasekaran has joined BW Papersystems (BWP) as the Director of Global Engineering–Finishing. Bala, who most recently was a Director at Design Group, will lead the global engineering teams for finishing product lines in Baltimore, MD (US), Hamburg, Germany and Bologna, Italy to develop new and maintain current products for the corrugated board finishing market. He will use Design for Excellence techniques with a collaborative team approach to achieve cost, performance and lead-time goals and lean product developm-ent tools, processes and visual management to develop and launch new products.

High Five Recognition: Pauline Tran of Design Group-Los Angeles

Congratulations to Design Group team member Pauline Tran of the Los Angeles, CA (US) office for receiving a High Five award. Sergio Bustamante nominated Pauline, a Validation Engineer, because she "exceeded expectations in her support of a critical priority project and was a pivotal contributor to its success through her high-quality work and accountability in completing deliverables, consultation and guidance to client employees on validation practice approaches and in technical/ discrepancy writing expertise." Awesome job, Pauline!

High Five Recognition: Senthilkumaran Appaswamy of Design Group-Chennai

Congratulations to Senthilkumaran Appaswamy of Design Group in Chennai, India for receiving a High Five award. One nominator said Senthil is "on top of every project that he's assigned with a strong execution" and that he was "instrumental" in closing an engagement with a client looking to develop an enhancement between FedEX and Infor XA ERP. They go on to say that "Senthil is an emerging leader" and works to ensure professionals in his span of care are taken care of. Congratulations, Senthil!

High Five Recognition: Mike Toscano of Design Group-Concord

Congratulations to Mike Toscano of Design Group in Concord, NH (US) for receiving a High Five award. Mike, a Mechanical Engineer, was recognized for stepping up to be "the MRP Lead for the MRP GA Revit Model and Drawings" and "through his commitment to take on this extra role, the entire team was able to meet the GA drawings and BOD packet deadline." A team member also said his "commitment to the success of this project was a testament to his professional character and abilities." Way to go, Mike!

Pneumatic Scale Angelus takes home top honors at BW Packaging's Innovation Showcase

Last month, Pneumatic Scale Angelus (PSA) team members from around the world attended BW Packaging's Annual Innovation Event in Minneapolis, MN (US). During the '22/'23 Innovation Showcase portion of the event, which spotlights the top innovation processes and projects from across all five BW divisions and the packaging platform, PSA took home top honors.
